Scene Study: Incorporating OBSERVATIONAL THEORY OF TECHNIQUE* and all applicable versions of R.I.D.E THEORY OF MEMORIZATION* to template and block current television and film scripts, this class is designed to inspire actors to develop their most compelling qualities on camera and eliminate mannerisms and "acting tricks" that can hide an actors' uniqueness and vulnerability. The focus will be on making dynamic and effective choices both internally and externally. All final scenes will involve the use of props, specific application to location/set and marks while focusing on continuity, sequencing and the technical awareness of the camera medium and frame.
Audition Technique: Using current (actual sides as available) audition sides, the actor will be lead through a complete audition situation. The focus will be on the practical application of isolating physical impulses pertaining to blocking and scoring while utilizing exercises to develop relaxation, presence, confidence and technical awareness for camera, lighting and sound.

Since all of the master rotation courses are ongoing/continuous, each class will vary on theme and content (process technique and sensory, memorization, physicality, camera blocking, Chroma key, ADR, continuity and replacement, stage combat and film fight choreography, special effects production: squib, harness, blood packs, etc. and post production application: morphing and CGI, script templating, writing and re-templating, screenplay and applied directing) according to the needs/requests of each student and limitations of set versus location filming.

This course is also designed to accommodate directors who are interested in improving their communication skills with actors.

The first stage begins with a step-by-step overview of the industry covering all facets of the business and related requirements (picture and resume, breakdown of agents, casting, unions, working permits and related applications) as pertaining to the Canadian and U.S. markets.

Following this, OBSERVATIONAL THEORY OF TECHNIQUE* (as derived from a hybrid of both Method and Classical techniques) will be implemented into casting ideals and introduced to the application to camera medium within progressive cold read exercises

The actor will then be lead through an extensive on camera scene study application (focusing “on set" protocol with the emphasis on transitional blocking and continuity) followed by internalized monologue work. This stage will then be reviewed as applied to a practical audition scenario.

The second stage focuses on the evolution of OBSERVATIONAL THEORY OF TECHNIQUE as R.I.D.E THEORY OF MEMORIZATION* (including Quick R.I.D.E., Blocking R.I.D.E. and Contextual R.I.D.E) is introduced over a twenty-one day program. The major applications being to INSTINCTIVE PHYSICALITY* and final execution of blocking. The summation lesson is again reviewed in an audition scenario, this time incorporating Physicality and R.I.D.E. Theory.

The emphasis will be on the actors' protocol on set in dealing with various shooting scenarios that the actor may face and making efficient and effective adjustments as required to fulfill direction. All complete scenes (and replacement pick-ups) will be filmed and later reviewed.

Due to overwhelming requests (and after thorough research and negotiations to arrange affordable broadcast quality camera and editing capabilities), THE ACTORS NETWORK Television and Film Studio is pleased to announce the first multi-structured, truly affordable, complete filmmaking experience.

This course will begin with each student filmmaker collaborating with an industry "hands on" Producer who will oversee the development of the original idea and/or script. The project will be formatted for screenplay (content and presentation) and developed into a storyboard and/or shooting script.

Through the stages of scouting location and casting talent, the project will then be produced and filmed in the appropriate locations using broadcast equipment (supplied by studio). Each student filmmaker will then be further involved in the editing process and their final "director's cut" version will be outputted onto DVD format.

The final stage concludes with a "grand premiere" show of the project. The student filmmaker will present and discuss their respective project (artistic and technical choices) with industry related professionals and explore future networking and distribution opportunities.

This is a highly intensive course which offers the newcomer to the music industry a truly eclectic musical experience. Each participant will be introduced to music by discovering new instruments (for example, developing a deeper understanding of voice as related to piano, or a more in depth sense of the technical aspect of the guitar or drums). The focus will be on finding out how the body and mind work in conjunction when learning more than one instrument and realizing the common thread that joins the study of all instruments. You will never hear music the same way again.

The fundamental process of technique will be approached in three stages. First, the emphasis will focus on concentration and innate mental preparation. Secondly, impulses to physicality will be identified, isolated, then reworked for specific execution of blocking. The third stage focuses on conviction levels and the overview of being able to incorporate all three stages in script application.
